L’essai pressiométrique Ménard permet d’évaluer la capacité portante et le tassement du sol en observant sa réaction au gonflement d’une sonde. Après contact, résistance puis rupture, l’essai en paliers mesure pression et volume. Des corrections d’étalonnage et de calibrage ajustent pression et volume corrigés. Les courbes pressiométrique et de fluage précisent la pression de fluage, seuil entre comportement pseudo-élastique et plastique, et permettent de déterminer la pression limite, essentielle au dimensionnement géotechnique.
The Ménard pressuremeter test assesses soil bearing capacity and settlement by analysing its reaction to probe expansion. After contact, resistance, and rupture, stepwise loading records pressure and volume. Calibration and correction procedures adjust measured values. Pressuremeter and creep curves identify the creep pressure marking the transition from pseudo-elastic to plastic behaviour. This value, combined with empirical or volumetric methods, yields the limit pressure, a key parameter for soil characterization and geotechnical foundation design.
